Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumenspalte – Konsequentes FaceFormer Training zahlt sich aus
Mein Sohn (9 Jahre) , wurde mit einer linksseitigen Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumenspalte geboren. Ebenso manifestierte sich schnell eine CMD. Der Mund war ständig geöffnet, die Zunge hing schlaff aus dem Mund, dauerhaftes Speicheln und sehr schlechte Sprachqualität waren die Folge. Die Kieferfehlstellungen waren vorprogrammiert. Gleichzeitig war er ständig erkältet, ohne Paukenröhrchen stellten sich zügig neue Ergüsse im Mittelohr ein. Das war als Folge der anatomischen Anomalie aber auch aufgrund der komplett fehlenden Nasenatmung zu sehen. Trotz herkömmlicher konsequent durchgeführter Logopädie stellten sich nur schlechte bis gar keine Erfolge ein.
Erst der Wechsel zum ISST Berndsen im Alter von 3 Jahren brachte die Wende. Etablieren des FaceFormer Tag wie Nacht und 3 x täglich konsequent durchgeführte Übungen nach Anleitung von Frau Dr. Berndsen zeigten bereits nach ein paar Monaten deutliche Besserung v.a. in der Sprachqualität. Auch das Speicheln hatte zügig ein Ende. Die Übungen halten bis heute an, aber sie sind in den Alltag integriert und mein Sohn macht sie inzwischen fast selbstständig. Selbst eine große sprachverbessernde OP konnte durch die konsequente Anwendung des FaceFormer und der Übungen abgewendet werden.
Fazit: Hätten wir eher gewusst, dass es den FaceFormer und das ISST gibt, hätten wir uns direkt nach der Geburt zu diesem entschieden. Es ist sicherlich nicht immer leicht mit einem (Klein-) Kind konsequent zu üben, aber es zahlt sich aus. Vielen lieben Dank an Frau Dr. Berndsen und das ganze Team für die Geduld und die hochkompetente Betreuung. Wer die Vorgeschichte nicht kennt der sieht sie unserem Sohn nicht an, nicht zuletzt durch das wissenschaftlich fundierte Konzept, welches hinter dem FaceFormer steht.
