Reliabilität der funktionsorientierten Messung perioraler Muskulatur mit dem FaceFormer®

Ziel

Kritische Bewertung der statistischen Untersuchungen zur Reliabilität von funktionsorientierten Messungen perioraler Muskulatur mit dem FaceFormer.

Material und Methode

Der FaceFormer wird klinisch zur Messung des Funktionszustandes der perioralen Muskulatur eingesetzt. Mit Hilfe eines Lippen-Kraft-Messers (Myo-Bar-Meter, ISST-Unna) wird die Lippenkraft bei 48 Probanden gemessen. 24 Probanden trainieren über insgesamt 3 mal 2 Wochen, während 24 Probanden als Kontrollgruppe dienen. Die Messung erfolgt am Beginn und am Ende der Untersuchungs-/Trainingsphase und dazwischen in zweiwöchigem Abstand. Alle Ergebnisse werden in mBar gemessen, mit dem Statistikprogramm SPSS (Version 10.5.2) erfasst und statistischen Berechnungen unterzogen.

Ergebnisse

Die Messwerte sowohl der Kontroll- als auch der Übungsgruppe zeigen jeweils drei Messwertmaxima bei 20, 45 und 70 mBar. Die Untersuchungsergebnisse bei dreifacher Messung lassen sich sehr gut bzw. gut reproduzieren, sowohl bei Messung durch einen Untersucher (k=0,81) als auch durch drei Untersucher (k=0,76). In der Übungsgruppe zeigen sich deutliche Trainingseffekte im Vergleich zur Kontrollgruppe (p<0,001).

Schlussfolgerungen

Ergebnisse der Lippendruck-Messung mittels FaceFormer sind auf einem guten bis sehr guten Niveau reproduzierbar. Erste Ergebnisse zur Trainierbarkeit der perioralen Muskulatur (Übungsgruppe n=24) legen nahe, dass bei konsequenter Anwendung des FaceFormers ein wirksames, einfaches und kostengünstiges Übungsgerät in der myofunktionellen Therapie zur Verfügung steht.
